Odessa Numismatics Museum (www.museum.com.ua)
has recently opened a Club of Discoverers for young collectors ages 8
to 14. It will be wonderful if you would like to donate some post cards
from your country (Indonesia! - ed.) as the present to the children for
their collection. So Ukrainian people could receive more information
about history and culture of your country and people.

Suharto's fires
(II no.65, January-March 2001)
Commenting that oil palm companies are the
main culprits in the widespread forest fires, George Aditjondro alleged
that 'several joint ventures have emerged, where relatives of former
President Suharto, former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and incumbent
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad hold powerful positions as
shareholders. Or else they are shareholders in companies which in turn
acquired shares of other companies in which members of these three
families are involved'. These allegations against Senior Minister Lee
Kuan Yew and his family are absurd. Singapore has strict laws against
corrupt business practices. The allegations by Mr George J Aditjondro
are totally without basis.

Turtle slaughter
I was greatly dismayed and upset to learn
of the recent killing of over 20,000 green sea turtles in Bali,
Indonesia. I strongly protest and object to such inhumane action. This
is totally unacceptable.

Quo vadis, lesbians?
(II no.66, Apr-Jun 2001)
Swara Srikandi (lesbian working team in
Jakarta) does not have any relationship at all with Chandra Kirana. The
website address mentioned in Bunga Jeumpa's article
(http://www.swara.cjb.net) is Swara Srikandi's website and not Chandra
Kirana's. All the contents of the above article are beyond our
knowledge and responsibility. We are a member of KKLGN (Kelompok Kerja
Gaya Nusantara), under the coordination of Mr Dede Oetomo, our 'big
brother'.
